10 Super Chic Travel Accessories
There are so many exciting aspects of travel—seeing new places, eating new foods, crossing experiences off your bucket list—and one of my favorites is going pre-trip shopping. It's a great excuse to fill my closet with outfits for my upcoming trip, as well as some Instagram-worthy accessories that will make traveling easier and a bit more stylish. Below are some of my favorite summer travel accessories that are as chic as they are practical. (Though I'll admit, some will also break the bank. Don't worry, I've found dupes!)
I love the idea of owning a train case, because it feels very 1950's/Audrey Hepburn. This one has a mirror and pockets, making it perfect to hold make up and toiletries, jewelry and accessories, or act as a cute, vintage-inspired carry-on bag for air travel. If a classic brown or taupe color isn't your style, wait until you see the "Indigo Bunting" colored bag!

No matter where you go, sun protection is super important. While you should always be applying sunblock, a sun hat is a great way to protect the sensitive skin on your face, shield your eyes, and look like your most Instagram-able self. Born + Made's custom sun hats are both personal and glamorous, coming in 5 different colors, the option to have a ribbons, pom poms, or fringe added, and 11 different colored sequins to choose from to write out your own message. Popular for brides and bridal parties, you can pick any name, words, or phrases you want to be written on the brim. (I have already picked out the perfect phrase for my hat, but I'm keeping it a secret!)

If only we could all be so lucky as to be able to afford a Chloé backpack for traveling. This one is a bit expensive, but it is the perfect size for traipsing around city streets all day and keeping everything you need with you. I also love the chain that attaches to the gold ring on the front flap, because there is no way a pick pocket can sneak into your bag without you noticing. It also is the perfect color to match with any outfit, and can be worn day and night, which is ideal for a travel bag. Since hardly anyone can afford a $2,000 travel backpack, you can find affordable dupes at Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, and Topshop.

These sleek headphones are my latest tech obsession and perfect for traveling. Not only do they come in adorable colors (mine are black and gold), but you don't have to worry about getting tangled up in wires because they connect to your phone, tablet, or laptop via bluetooth. There are controls on the side of the headphones, so you can skip songs, pause, control volume, and start and end phone calls without ever needing to pick up your phone. You also get pretty good distance with these, so you don't need to be physically holding your phone to maintain the connection, which is great for travelers. Just connect your headphones, throw your phone in your bag, and you're on your way!

Sunglasses are not only important for eye protection, but they can make or break your vacation pictures. These cat eye glasses by Quay Australia are flattering to any face shape, and can match any outfit thanks to their black rims. You also get a fun pop of color with the berry ombré lenses, but they also come in peach frames with silver lenses for those looking for a bit more color. Since these sunglasses are a bit on the pricier side, make sure to have a good, sturdy case to keep them in while you travel, and try not to lose them!

I am absolutely obsessed with this camel passport holder from kate spade. While I usually tend to like more neutral colored travel accessories, the pop of color combined with the adorable camel drawings makes this great for summer adventures. It also plays on the colorful pom pom and tassel trend that is taking over this season, and is sure to put a smile on the face of any grumpy TSA agent that has to check your passport at the gate.

Something I enjoyed doing on my last vacation was taking a travel journal and writing down all of the things I experienced on my trip, all of the cool places I visited, and all of the little memories that I sometimes forget when I come back home. This travel journal by Rifle Paper Co. is the size of a passport, can fit easily into a carry on, and has a cute international theme on the cover. I am looking forward to jotting down all of my favorite memories on my next trip, and being able to keep them in such a cute notebook that I can look back on fondly in the future.

The ath-leisure sneaker trend is a godsend for travelers everywhere, because you can pair a cute summer sundress or jean shorts look with sneakers and look stylish without hurting your feet while walking around and exploring during your vacation. adidas is probably the most popular trend sneaker company out there, and their Superstar sneakers are comfortable, reasonably priced, and come in a wide variety of colors for every type of fashion forward traveler. I went with rose gold, because I figured it has the same versatility as a black and white shoe, while being able to add a little bit of color and brightness to any outfit. I've also found that they are relatively easy to clean; Just use a stain remover stick on the fabric parts of the shoe, and a wet paper towel dipped in a tiny bit of laundry detergent to clean the leather parts of the shoe. If you're in a hotel or AirBNB and don't have laundry detergent on you, dish detergent or hand soap works just as well.

How absolutely adorable is this Joules raincoat?! It's a fun way to make a statement when the weather is dark and dreary. While it may not be the best match to every kind of outfit out there, it is certainly a conversation starter and super functional for travelers. You can fold it into one of the pockets and it becomes a pack-able square, it is light weight and water resistant, and you can adjust the drawstring at the waist. Dog lovers and travelers to rainy locations will love this coat.

Looking stylish doesn't have to start and end with your wardrobe—it can also extend into your luggage! Pack in style with these adorable kate spade travel bag sets meant to keep your jewelry, shoes, and underwear organized and separated from the rest of your luggage. Not only do these pages prevent damage, but they keep your jewelry from being lost in the bottom of your luggage, your shoes from being damaged, and your underwear concealed when TSA inevitably opens up your bag as you're going through the security checkpoints and empties everything out for the whole world to see. Instead of a giant heap of clothing, underwear, and accessories, they can go through individual bags discreetly and then you can put them neatly back into the bag without having to refold or organize anything.
