The Internet Is Going Crazy For M.A.C.'s Basic Bitch Palette
Put down your Starbucks cup and step away from the Ugg boots, because M.A.C.'s newest eye shadow palette deserves the attention of every basic bitch.
Why haven't you heard about the glorious Basic Bitch Palette before? Probably because it's not anywhere close to being out yet. We only know about it because Netta Szekely, M.A.C. senior makeup artist, teased the palette on Instagram after testing it backstage at Milan Fashion Week.
This palette's packaging is adorable, with a black and white stripe pattern and big block lettering, but to me, a proud basic bitch, a true basic palette would look like any of Urban Decay's Naked palettes, filled with taupe and nude shades and classic, sleek packaging. However, this palette embodies the basic bitch's go-to smoky eye, featuring dark purples, browns, and grays with a huge blush pink pan that it either a generous amount of base color or a highlighter. The color swatches look crazy pigmented, which is a must for a smoky look, but it is unclear how creamy or powdery the shades are based on the images. Even the names of the shades are basic, with gems like Text Me Later and Me Me Me.
M.A.C. is keeping quiet on when we can all get our perfectly manicured hands on this palette, but almost 2,000 basic bitches have liked Szekely's teaser on Instagram, so it is safe to say that we could see this palette in M.A.C. stores sometime this year. These shades would make the perfect addition to any basic's beauty collection, and I'm sure that anyone proud to call themselves a basic bitch will probably buy it just because of the palette's name. Regardless, it is sure to be a hit when it finally hits stores!
